About Tibor Fulop, MD
Dr. Tibor Fülöp is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS and a "summa cum laude" graduate of the Semmelweis Medical University of Budapest, Hungary. He obtained his postgraduate medical training at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and the University Iowa in Iowa City, IA. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology and actively engaged in clinical care, teaching and research. He has more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and participates in several local and nation-wide epidemiologic cohort studies, including Jackson Heart Study, ARIC, and CARe initiative. His is a Fellow of both American College of Physicians and American Society of Nephrology and has membership in multiple national and international societies.
Dr. Fülöp mentored numerous trainees in the past and presents regularly at both regional and national meetings, including at the SSCI's Southern Regional Meetings. He is currently serving on the Editorial Board of several journals, including The American Journal of Medical Sciences, where he is one of the Nephrology Section Editors. His clinical interests include home-based renal replacement therapies, renal procedures, medical prevention of kidney stones and renal vasculitis.
